What stories do centuries-old Oriental carpets tell? What makes Anatolian kilims so special, and how are these unique works of textile art created?
As part of Art Week Esztergom, conservator Judit Szabó invites visitors to an engaging presentation offering an insight into the rich world of Anatolian carpets.
The presentation will cover:
- the history of Oriental carpets,
- the traditions and techniques of carpet weaving,
- the natural materials and plant-based dyes used in their production,
- the special challenges involved in restoring antique carpets.
The programme will also include a practical demonstration, bringing this thousands-of-years-old craft tradition closer to the participants.
Participation is free of charge, and no advance registration is required.
