Discover ebru, the Turkish art of painting on water, a tradition with more than 500 years of history, as part of a special summer programme within the Art Week Esztergom festival!
The programme takes place at the Esztergom Dzsámi and Veprech Tower, where you can discover this unique art form among the exhibited works of Orsolya Takács, ebru artist.
10:00–12:00 | Live Demonstration and Presentation

During a live demonstration, ebru artist Orsolya Takács will introduce visitors to the centuries-old tradition of painting on water. The presentation will offer an insight into the history and cultural background of ebru, the use of natural materials, and the world of traditional techniques, while the artist creates artworks live before the audience.
13:00–15:00 | Workshop
(Advance registration required.)
During the afternoon workshop, participants will have the opportunity to try the ebru technique themselves under the guidance of Orsolya Takács.
During the workshop:
- you will learn the basics of painting on water;
- you will experience the calm and immersive creative process of ebru;
- you will create your own A3-sized ebru painting, which you can take home as a keepsake.
Three predetermined colours will be used during the workshop. All necessary materials and equipment will be provided.
