During the workshop, you will learn one of the classic techniques of bookbinding while working with beautiful hand-marbled papers. Ebru, the art of painting on water, was introduced to Europe and Hungary through Turkish influence and has been a distinctive decorative element in bookbinding for centuries.

On the Night of Museums, we welcome our visitors not only with exciting programs but also with an authentic Turkish atmosphere. Enjoy a cup of Turkish tea or coffee while live music fills the surroundings of the Mosque.

During the Night of Museums, join a special Turkish motif painting workshop led by Derya Ocak. We invite you to a unique creative experience where you can get acquainted with one of the most iconic symbols of Turkish decorative arts: the Ottoman tulip.

On the occasion of Children’s Day, the Esztergom Mosque and the Veprech Tower will come to life! On this special day, children are invited on an exciting journey through time: among the medieval castle walls, historical games, skill challenges, and magical adventures will come alive.

Adult visitors can meet Margit Schmöltz, co-author of the historical novel “Buda & Pest – A City Through Its Stormy Centuries.” The program includes a reading from the chapter “The Water Fairy of the Buda Vilayet,” followed by a discussion about the creative process and behind-the-scenes insights into writing. Meanwhile, children are welcome to join Éva Vécs, educator and gingerbread maker, for a creative craft session, where they can playfully explore the atmosphere of the past.

The Aranyalma Duo (Bernadett Gebri and Zsolt Vaskó) brings you a magical Turkish folktale, enriched with live music, interactive play, and lots of smiles.

The Esztergom Mosque welcomes visitors with a special exhibition: Orsolya Takács, an ebru artist, presents her exhibition titled “Marble Universe,” offering insight into the world of traditional Turkish ebru art.

World Water Day has been celebrated every year since 1993, following an initiative by the United Nations. This day not only draws attention to the global water crisis and the importance of access to clean drinking water, but also encourages action — it is our shared responsibility to preserve this irreplaceable natural treasure. The history of the Esztergom Mosque and the Verpech Tower is closely connected to water. The spring rising in the area, as well as the Danube flowing at its feet, made this place livable and strategically important for centuries.
