Step into one of Budapest’s most unique historical sanctuaries — the Gül Baba Tomb, nestled in the heart of Rózsadomb.

The Gül Baba Tomb opens its doors on Monday evening, September 21! To mark the Day of Hungarian Drama, The Night of Drama will take place at several venues across Budapest’s Margit Quarter, featuring staged readings of contemporary Hungarian plays.

On July 7, 1914, two secondary school teachers from Pápa, Zsigmond Fejes and Imre Lakos, set out on a journey to explore the then largely unmapped regions of Cilicia. Their choice of destination was likely influenced by the Turanian movement’s fascination with the East, as well as by personal ambition.

Anatolian kilims, decorated with colourful geometric patterns, have been unique works of textile art for centuries. Their simple yet fascinating technique is based on the interweaving of vertical and horizontal threads, giving rise to countless patterns and unique woven textiles.

Discover ebru, the Turkish art of painting on water, a tradition with more than 500 years of history, as part of a special summer programme within the Art Week Esztergom festival! The programme takes place at the Esztergom Dzsámi and Veprech Tower, where you can discover this unique art form among the exhibited works of Orsolya Takács, ebru artist.
